The Telos Alliance®—leader in broadcast technology and parent company to Telos®, Omnia®, Axia®, 25-Seven®, Linear Acoustic®, and Minnetonka™—announced today that Dave Collins has joined the Telos Alliance team as US Sales Manager for Omnia Audio.
Dave is originally from Philadelphia, and has been in radio, working as a program director, on-air host, and technical guy, for the last 15 years. Most recently, he worked at a station group in Lebanon, New Hampshire, did the ski and snowboard reports for a network of stations, and was the voice of Dartmouth Sports Network. Collins also helped start up operations of the AAA-formatted 97-7 ACK-FM (WAZK in Nantucket, Massachusetts). Dave has engineered thousands of remote broadcasts, including live play-by-play sports, debates, interviews, and live music concerts.
"Along with the great products and service it provides, the Telos Alliance's communication is key, which is something you don't often experience, even in the communications business," says Collins. "My philosophy is to offer the cleanest, fullest sound to the listener. Whether it's AM, FM, or an internet stream, I would like the listener to know what and
to whom they're listening based on what Omnia can deliver to their ears. I'm looking forward to taking part in new adventures, and sharing new ideas with the entire staff and clients of Telos Alliance.
Omnia Audio—part of the Telos Alliance—was founded by Telos Alliance CEO Frank Foti, who used audio engineering/processing to enable stations to craft a unique ‘signature sound’ that was louder than anything else on the air, yet with clear sound and no distortion. This processing is at the core of Omnia products, allowing stations to stand out among the competition on a crowded dial. Omnia has continued to innovate leading-edge and solutions-oriented broadcast audio technology, with numerous accolades and awards under its belt. Omnia designed the first all-digital FM audio processor and the first DSP-based broadcast audio processor; introduced the first broadcast processor with 48KHz audio sampling rate; is the innovator of new tech and features in broadcast processing, including the first broadcast processors to have AES composite output, Single Side Band (SSB) for FM Stereo, and Audio over IP; and is the developer of µMPX™ audio codec, which transports high-quality Multiplexed FM signals over a small 320kbps data pipe. Omnia continues to give broadcasters the tools they need to amplify, customize, and perfect their sound signatures.
