Omnia Leads in Washington, D.C.
Capitol’s Top Rated Stations Use Omnia Processing
27 January 2003, Cleveland Ohio, USA
The Number One radio station in America’s capitol, Infinity Broadcasting’s WPGC-FM, uses Omnia audio processing to keep their listeners locked in.
During the Fall, 2002 ratings period, as reported by trade weekly Radio & Records (www.rronline.com), WPGC-FM solidified a six-book hold on the Number One spot by increasing its share by nearly a full percentage point.
“In fact, 2 of D.C.’s Top 3 FM stations rely on Omnia audio processing. Radio One’s WKYS-FM uses Omnia, too,” points out Telos / Omnia Managing Director Denny Sanders. “It seems every day we hear more great news like this. Because the Omnia sound is free of digital artifacts, listeners can listen longer without fatigue, and programmers can have all the loudness they want. Everybody wins!”
Recently, data from surveys conducted in Arbitron’s Top 10 US markets revealed that more than half of the nation’s highest rated FM stations (according to the Spring 2002 ARB, Mon-Sun 6a-Mid, 12+) use Omnia audio processing, including WLTW-FM/New York, the US’s highest rated station, and KIIS-FM/Los Angeles, the nation’s highest billing station.
