Omnia founder Frank Foti to receive 2013 NAB Excellence in Engineering Award

Each year, NAB presents the Radio & Television Engineering Achievement Awards at the annual spring convention in Las Vegas. This year, Telos Alliance CEO and Omnia Audio founder Frank Foti is radio's recipient of this award, which according to the NAB is "given to individuals for their significant contributions which have advanced the state of the art of broadcast engineering."
Frank Foti began his engineering career at WELW(AM) in Willoughby, Ohio in 1975. In 1978, he joined WMMS and WHK as Chief Engineer, where he began to develop custom audio processing solutions for the stations. His later work at KSAN and KNEW(AM) San Francisco and Z-100 (WHTZ) in New York cemented his reputation as a leader in the processing field.
He formed his own company, Cutting Edge Technologies in 1988, which merged with Telos Systems (now The Telos Alliance) in 1992. Frank served as President of the Omnia Division until 2012, when he became CEO of The Telos Alliance.
Among Frank's technical breakthroughs are The Dividend Composite Filter, Non-Aliasing DSP Clipper, Dynamically flat time-aligned crossovers, Low-IMD Clipping, Multi-Band Look-Ahead Limiting, Multi-Band Crossovers time aligned to be dynamically flat, as well as the advocacy and continued research into the potential advantages of Single Sideband Suppressed Carrier technology.
Omnia processing products are now the choice of the majority of the Top 100 rated stations in America, and are in use at virtually all major stations worldwide.
