Will Focus on AOIP, AES-67

The Telos Alliance® is pleased to announce Chief Science Officer Greg Shay’s presence on three audio networking panels at the 139th annual Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City, taking place October 31st – November 1st at the Javits Center.
“Audio networking is one of broadcasting’s hottest topics,” says Shay. “It’s also a passion of mine, and I’m pleased to be a part of the discussion. I think that people are really hungry for information about how to best implement AoIP in their facilities, and we’re looking forward to some informative and lively discussions.”
Shay will appear in two sessions and one workshop, all a part of the Networked Audio Track:

“Network Performance Requirements for Audio Applications”, on October 30th from 4:50 to 6:30 PM, will focus on network design considerations for real-time AoIP networks, with special consideration of converged audio/video networks.

“How to Get AES67 into Your Systems/Products”, on October 31st from 3:15 to 4:45 PM, will discuss the technical requirements for implementing AES67, and ways manufacturers can implement the standard into their products for maximum interoperability.

“AES67 Interoperability Testing”, on November 1st from 11am to 12:30 PM, will look at the results of the AES67 Plugfest in Munich, and answer questions about compatibility and implementation.

Greg Shay has a deep background in audio systems design with work dating to as early as 1980. Not long afterward, Shay was a co-founder of Spectral Synthesis, where he designed the industry’s first PC-based 16track DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) — the basis for the Euphonix R-1 hard-drive recorder.
