Telos, GMV Network Team To Stream Audio For Playback To Widest Range Of Audio Players
SAN FRANCISCO, September 20, 2000
A new partnership with a software development company will make audio webcasting through the Telos Audioactive MPEG Realtime Hardware Encoder easier than ever. The agreement between Telos and Chicago-based GMV Network (www.gmvnetwork.com) eliminates the need for a radio station or other audio content provider to select a single proprietary format, such as Real Networks or Microsoft’s Media Technologies, to stream their audio.
The AudioEdge solution is being demonstrated with Audioactive in the Telos exhibit booth at this week’s NAB Radio Show. It uses the Audioactive Encoder and GMV Network’s AudioEdge server to stream MP3 audio on the web and deliver high quality playback to any MP3 media player, according to GMV Network Director of Sales Darrell Jones.
“Teaming up Audioactive and our AudioEdge provides a way to deliver audio to any media player in a cost-effective way, rather than going through the expense of stringing together several proprietary systems.” Jones said. “Now more than 5500 Audioactive users have a server solution which allows them to deliver audio to any MP3 player. It’s the best way for a radio station—or other audio content provider--to get the widest audience on the web.”
Jones explained that GMV Network decided to partner with Audioactive because it is “customtailored to the audio market.”
“Audioactive is really the best encoder on the market. It’s easy to use and designed by engineers with a lot of experience in the radio/audio business. Nobody else comes close to the market penetration they have, and nobody else approaches the set-and-forget nature of Audioactive,” Jones said.
Both Telos and GMV Network will market the AudioEdge Solution, which is making its debut at the Telos Booth #1906, at the NAB Radio Show, at the Moscone Convention Center, September 20-22.
