Cleveland, Ohio (March 25, 2025) - Telos Alliance®, trusted global leader in broadcast audio for more than three decades, unveils Linear Acoustic® AERO.enterprise, the newest member of the long-running lineup of AERO-series DTV audio processors.
AERO.enterprise will offer the same trusted AEROMAX® loudness control and UPMAX®-II stereo-to-5.1-channel upmixing and downmixing as the hardware-based Linear Acoustic AERO.20, AERO.200, AERO.2400, and AERO.8000 products, but will be delivered as software to be hosted on customer-provided COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) hardware.
Each AERO.enterprise framework can host multiple AMX processing instances in any combination of AMX5.1 (5.1+2+2), AMX2.0 (2+2+2), or AMX 5x2 (2+2+2+2+2) configurations.
Per-instance options will include Dolby® Digital Plus transcoding, which includes decoding of stereo and 5.1-channel Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus content to PCM for loudness control and encodes to Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus for transmission, Nielsen® watermark encoding (N2, N6, and CBET) and Verance® Aspect® watermark encoding for audience measurement, CrowdControl™ for increased dialogue intelligibility, and Audio Description (warble tone).
“Broadcasters worldwide have trusted Linear Acoustic® AERO processors to deliver compliant, viewer-pleasing audio to their audiences for over twenty years,” said Larry Schindel, Linear Acoustic Product Manager. “AERO.enterprise allows customers migrating to SMPTE ST 2110 facilities with AoIP infrastructure the option of deploying the gold standard of television audio processing on their own hardware, and reinforces Telos Alliance’s commitment to expanding our catalog of virtualized products.”
As with the hardware AERO products, support for SAP/DVS, EAS, local emergency audio, and local voiceover are all standard features. Selectable EBU R-128 or ATSC A/85 metering and logging, including True Peak measurements, are also included.
NfRemote provides remote configuration, control, and metering either from the host system or a Windows PC over a standard network connection. The built-in HTTP server enables control of I/O, presets, individual processing parameters, and task macros using simple IP commands.
Standard I/O for AERO.enterprise is Audio over IP (AoIP), using AES67 in support of SMPTE ST 2110-30 (Level A) as well as Livewire+. Telos Alliance xNode2 and the Telos Alliance SDI AoIP Node can be used to convert traditional analog, AES3, and SDI signals to/from AoIP.
AERO.enterprise will be showcased at the Telos Alliance booth at the 2025 NAB Show, North Hall Booth N721, and is expected to be available in Q3 2025.
