Border Media Partners gets more Axia

Austin, Texas stations get Element 2.0 consoles, LivewireTM network

29 February, 2012, Cleveland Ohio, USA

Border Media Partners (www.bmpradio.com) is upgrading their Austin, Texas station cluster with Axia Audio mixing consoles and AoIP network. KXBT-FM, KTXX, KWNX, KZNX and KXXS-FM will soon be on-the-air with new Element IP-Audio consoles.

The sale through Broadcasters General Store includes five 22-position Element 2.0 mixing consoles and associated Axia networking equipment. The order also includes a Telos VX Broadcast VoIP Talkshow System, which integrates seamlessly with Axia networks and consoles to allow operators to control phones directly from the board.

This marks Border Media Partners' second Axia installation. Six BMP stations in San Antonio, Texas, have been on the air with an Axia network, which includes 11 Element consoles, since 2008.

Axia allows broadcasters to quickly and easily build audio networks using switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility. Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo channels (plus machine logic and PAD) over a single CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with wiring labor and infrastructure. Axia Element 2.0 radio consoles are a hit, with installations in over 2,500 studios worldwide.

Visitors to NAB 2012 in Las Vegas can see Axia's family of AoIP mixing consoles and networking equipment in operation at the Axia Audio/Telos Alliance exhibit, Booth C3113 in the Central Hall.
