FM Broadcast Audio Processor at IBC 2010

The new Omnia.11 FM Broadcast Audio Processor will make its official European debut at IBC 2010. Five years in the making, Omnia.11 is a complete re-think of broadcast processing, a completely new approach from top to bottom.

The goal of the designers of Omnia.11 was to restore the quality and cleanliness to a station’s sound that’s often lost with heavy processing, without a sacrifice in loudness. The signature winning Omnia sound is still there, but every stage of processing and the hardware platform itself has been completely re-created from scratch to address the latest competitive challenges.

Radio competes with iPods and MP3 players. The industry can no longer afford to broadcast highly distorted sound in the pursuit of loudness. Omnia engineers spent many months developing this mean, clean processing machine to achieve both loudness and clarity, even from over-limited material. Whether its rock, talk, hip-hop, country, A/C, fine-arts, urban, classical, sports play-by-play or anything else. Omnia.11 gives punch, power and girth without any nasty side effects.

Research into the technologies in Omnia.11 began when Frank Foti, founder and president of Omnia Audio, asked “What would it take to make an audio processor that would deliver the competitive loudness that broadcasters require yet still retain brilliant clarity? I know that everyone talks about quality. But, broadcasters are broadcasters, and they need to be loud at the same time. It is a tough combination, but we triumphed in a big way with Omnia.11”.

The entire Omnia development team rose to the challenge and created a new hardware platform, new front-end processing, and a new user interface, all with the common goal of re-inventing FM processing.

“You have my personal guarantee that you will hear a dramatic improvement from the moment you fire this baby up. It’s testimony to the hard work and dedication of the entire team of Omnia engineers,” says Frank Foti.

Visitors to IBC can see Omnia.11 and other Omnia products at the Telos / Omnia / Axia / Linear display in booth 8.D29. For more information, contact Angi Roberson via email at angi@telos-systems.com, or via phone at +1-216-241-7225.
