New Omnia.9 Receives Two Industry Awards at NAB 2011

April 15, 2011, Cleveland Ohio, USA

One of the biggest hits of NAB 2011 was the versatile Omnia.9 audio processor, which made its official debut at the annual convention. Not only were there rave reviews from many of the most important members of the worldwide engineering community, but the Omnia.9 received prestigious awards from two of the industry’s leading publications.

  • Radio World presented Omnia.9 with their 2011 “Cool Stuff Award”
  • Radio Magazine presented Omnia.9 with their 2011 “Pick Hit Award”

"Last year, we won multiple awards for the Omnia.11. This year, multiple awards for the Omnia.9. Team Omnia is on a roll and we're not done yet!" said Omnia President and Founder Frank Foti, who went on to say: “"Omnia.9 evolved out of the passion of Leif Claesson. This is further testament to the growth of our company, just as we saw last year with Omnia.11 and the contributions of Corny Gould. These are the next leaders in audio processing...without a doubt!"

Omnia.9 features exclusive "Undo" technology: a source declipping algorithm, and program-adaptive expander which removes distortion from source material. This corrects over processed CDs, so common in today's contemporary music. The Psychoacoustic Composite Embedder allows up to 140% audio peaks in stereo, within 100% total modulation. This creates about 3dB extra treble headroom. There are selectable patch points for convenient auditioning of the audio signal at any point of the processing chain without affecting listeners. Separate processing for FM and HD-1 and (optional) HD-2 and HD-3 . Revolutionary built-in, fully independent encoding and processing for internet streams of FM analog, Primary Digital (HD-1) and (Optional) Secondary (HD-2) and Tertiary (HD-3). Supports encoding to MP3 (Mpeg-1 Layer 3), MP2 (Mpeg-1 Layer 2), AAC, HE-AAC (including RTSP/3G for streaming to mobile phones), Ogg Vorbis, WMA and WMA Pro. On board RDS encoder, dynamically updatable. HTTP push support for automation, such as dynamic RDS and streaming song titles, preset recall. Independent studio output with very low latency for talent monitoring. Scheduled to ship Summer 2011.
