8 April 2002, Las Vegas, NV USA
Omnia Audio, a Telos Systems company, announced plans today for an Omnia digital audio processor designed to integrate directly with the popular line of FM transmitters produced by Crown Broadcast.
“This collaboration truly breaks new ground,” said Frank Foti, President of Telos Systems. “Transmitter on-board processing will give many technical advantages to broadcasters, such as improved audio resulting from ultra-close coupling of processor and exciter, and the convenience of integrated remote controls for transmitter and processor.”
Barry Honel, former Vice President of Texar and now with worldwide sales for Crown Broadcast, first approached Omnia to propose development of onboard processing for transmitters. "This product will provide Crown with a major advantage," commented Honel, "a transmitter that sounds louder, cleaner, better – out of the box!"
Under the exclusive OEM agreement, Omnia will develop an audio processor containedon a card designed to plug directly into the chassis of Crown Broadcast FM-Series radio transmitters. Specific audio and technical details of the Omnia plug-in processor will be released shortly, says Foti.
