Paravel Systems becomes Axia partner
23 June, 2008, Cleveland Ohio, USA
Paravel Systems LLC, a leading provider of Open Source audio solutions for the broadcasting industry, is now an Axia Audio partner. Clients of Paravel Systems (www.paravelsystems.com) will now be able to purchase Axia IP-Audio networking components bundled with and customized for use with Paravel-supported products, including Rivendell (a complete, full-featured radio automation system) and CallCommander (a high-performance call management system for Talk Radio environments).
Axia, the networked-audio division of Telos Systems, will provide its IP-Audio Driver software to Paravel Systems. This new driver technology allows any audio workstation running the Linux® operating system to send studio-grade audio directly to an Axia audio network from its network interface card, completely bypassing the need for PC soundcards. Now, Axia clients with Linux-based audio workstations can interface directly with their Livewire networks.
“Linux is well-known as a bullet-proof computing platform, and broadcasters never stop searching for ways to ensure on-the-air reliability,” says Axia President Michael “Catfish” Dosch. “I’m glad that those who employ Paravel systems as a means to that end can now interface directly with Axia audio networks.”
“Paravel Systems is proud to be on the forefront of bringing this exciting new technology to the Linux environment” says Fred Gleason, the President and co-founder of Paravel Systems. “That environment is already host to a large and diverse set of professional-grade audio applications, and the ability to plug those applications directly into an Axia Audio network will offer great benefits in the ability to seamlessly integrate all the myriad systems that constitute a modern radio studio.”
Paravel Systems joins the growing list of Axia partners (www.axiaaudio.com/partners/) offering products that integrate with Axia IP-Audio networks. In addition to the IP-Audio driver, Axia products include the popular Element modular broadcast console, a family of “audio nodes” that allow easy mixing and matching of digital, analog and microphone audio, and a comprehensive suite of network administration and routing control software.
