Riverbend installs Axia studios in Idaho Falls
26 May 2010, Cleveland Ohio, USA
Riverbend Communications has chosen Axia IP-Audio radio consoles and routing equipment to upgrade their six-station cluster in Idaho Falls, Idaho. KLCE-FM, KFTZ-FM, KCVI-FM, KTHK-FM, and AMs KBLY and KBLI will all receive new, networked on-air studios.
Riverbend’s purchase includes six 16-position Axia Element 2.0 radio consoles, several copies of the Axia IP-Audio Driver for Windows which eliminates audio cards on Windows®-based audio workstations and playout computers, and Axia iProFiler, networked audio logging software that records up to 16 channels of audio simultaneously.
Riverbend opted to install Axia Studio Engines coupled with discrete audio nodes to provide facility-wide audio networking and routing. Axia’s is the only AoIP system that lets clients choose to construct their network using either a distributed approach, with audio inputs placed adjacent to source equipment, or a consolidated architecture using PowerStation integrated console engines with onboard I/O, GPIO, mix engine, Ethernet switch and console CPU.
The Axia IP-Audio system allows broadcasters to build audio networks of any size using standard switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility. Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo channels plus machine logic over a single CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with wiring labor and infrastructure. Additionally, broadcast equipment and playout systems from over two-dozenAxia Partners connect directly to Axia networks using standard Ethernet connections.
Over 1,500 Axia IP-Audio systems are now in use at radio stations around the world. For more information, please visit www.AxiaAudio.com and contact Clark Novak at Axia Audio by email atcnovak@AxiaAudio.com, or by phone at +1-216-241-7225.
