SOUND4 Becomes an Axia Partner

16 March 2010, Cleveland, OH USA

Sound4, maker of multi-band PC-based audio processing cards for HDFM, DAB, DRM, DMB and WebRadio broadcasting, is now an Axia Audio partner with plans to integrate the Livewire(TM) AoIP standard into SOUND4 products, the first of which will be an 8-channel voice processor launching at NAB 2010. Livewire is the IP-Audio networking standard which utilizes Ethernet to provide an easy way to route and share audio and logic throughout the broadcast plant.

"Everyone agrees that IP-Audio is the future. There are already more than 1,500 studios around the world powered by Axia Livewire networks," says Axia Vice-President Marty Sacks. "Broadcasters and equipment manufacturers are increasingly discovering the power and flexibility of audio networking."

Sound4 joins the growing list of Axia partners offering products that integrate with Axia IP-Audio networks. Axia products include the popular Element 2.0 modular broadcast console, an IP-Audio Driver that allows PCs to exchange audio directly with Livewire networks via NIC, the PowerStation integrated console engine, the IP-Intercom system, a family of “audio nodes” that allow easy mixing and matching of digital, analog and microphone audio, and a comprehensive suite of network administration and routing control software.
