Steve Church Honored by NAB
To receive Radio & Television Engineering Achievement Award

Each year, NAB presents the Radio & Television Engineering Achievement Awards at the annual Spring convention in Las Vegas. This year, Telos founder Steve Church is radio’s recipient of this award, which according to the NAB is "Given to individuals for their significant contributions which have advanced the state of the art of broadcast engineering."
Steve Church is the President and CEO of Telos Systems. Before founding the company, he was a Technical Director and talk host for radio stations such as WMMS/Cleveland, and WFBQ/Indianapolis. Steve designed the first DSP-based product for radio broadcast applications, the Telos 10 digital telephone hybrid. He was the first to design a product using MP3 – the famous Telos Zephyr ISDN codec – and played a key role in popularizing codecs for PC and Internet music applications. As co-inventor of Livewire™, he is a pioneer in IP-Audio technology, and has co-authored the definitive treatise on the subject, Audio Over IP: Building Pro AoIP Systems with Livewire, published by Focal Press. He has also written works on broadcast telephony which are part of the NAB Engineering Handbook.
