Telos Systems, makers of innovative ISDN and telephone network interfaces for broadcast, have partnered with Harris Corporation’s Broadcast Communications Division to promote integration of the Telos Series 2101 Multi-Studio Talkshow System in U.S. broadcasting facilities.
A flexible whole-plant telephone system designed for large studio complexes, Series 2101 joins computer intelligence and routing capabilities with ISDN PRI (Primary Rate Interface) telephone lines, allowing broadcasters to manage up to 96 callers using T1 lines and 120 callers using E1. In typical configurations, Series 2101 controls as many as 32 studios.
“Series 2101 is a unique product that our Systems Integration division will feature in large systems throughout the U.S.,” says Jay Batista, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Harris Corp. Broadcast Communications Division. “We're very excited about the features that it brings to the marketplace.”
“Series 2101 offers broadcasters unparalleled power to marshal and manage the on-air telephone resources demanded by today’s big studio clusters, and as such is extremely configurable,” states Marty Sacks, Telos Systems’ National Sales Director. “Harris routinely handles large, complicated studio installations. They have the infrastructure in place to manage the complex system installations that Series 2101 purchasers specify.”
Telos Systems will continue to sell the Series 2101 directly in the U.S., where it has already been chosen for major studio builds by XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.
